CRL CENTER RICH LAND INDUSTRY PTE. LTD carried out in-situ flash butt welding for 1,247 joints between KM8.75 to KM28.40, including the Johor Port line, working under challenging site conditions with reused rail materials over 10 years old. Due to significant surface rust, extensive cleaning and preparation were required prior to welding. Official reopening ceremony at the KTMB Terminal in Pasir Gudang, highlighted that the project-originally scheduled for 24 months-was successfully completed in just 6 months.
To meet the project’s challenges, CRL deployed the latest Flash Butt Mobile Welding Machine developed by the China Academy of Railway Sciences-a system widely used in China’s highspeed rail and metro projects.
Key Advantages of the Solution:
The welding works were executed to an exceptionally high standard, despite the degraded rail condition, ensuring optimal joint strength and reliability.
CRL is proud to have played a key role in this strategic national railway upgrade. With our growing expertise in advanced welding solutions and proven field execution, we remain committed to supporting Malaysia’s future railway modernization programs.
