The main part includes knife plate, shield body, drive device, pipe assembly machine, soil drainage mechanism, human gate, etc. The function of the rear supporting device is to provide various support for the excavation of the main part, including power, control, grouting, lubrication, muck conveying, segment conveying, soil improvement, etc. According to the functional requirements, the rear supporting devices generally include several major systems: electronic control system, hydraulic system, grouting system, bentonite system, foam system, compressed air system, circulating water system, lubrication system, muck and segment conveying system and oil sealing, etc. The rear supporting device of the shield machine is generally composed of one connecting bridge and several vehicles. Although the rear supporting shield machine varies from the construction geological conditions, bidding documents, designers’ understanding of the shield machine and the amount of accumulated experience, high reliability, convenient operation and simple maintenance are the key points of the rear supporting design.
